50 Hour Film Shoot

The Kerry Film Festival is celebrating its 15th birthday this year. That is such a huge achievement for Kerry and its connection to the film industry. Over the last few years as part of the festival they have ran a 50 Hour Film Shoot. Basically the premise is to give a small group of people 50 hours to create a short film. Last year, to ensure the film was made in the 50 hours given, the entrants had to use a certain prop in their film. It was an apple. They were also given a specific genre which they had to stick to.

Last year I heard about an Irish film called ‘Pilgrim Hill.’

To be honest I still haven’t seen it but that’s not the point of this article. I’m writing about this film because of a young Irish director who has now become somewhat successful and is currently finishing post production on his newest film ‘Glassland.’ I don’t know Gerard Barrett
